Thanks for this post Eleanor, perfect balance of process pictures & words! I often look at your work, & wonder ‘how did you do that’, so it is great to see & to understand why you made those decisions. Looking forward to more of these 😊
Love it! Yay to process posts! Good work catching the sunny side of the building, which is not very apparent in the photo! Not to mention nailing the proportions! Whew, that's a daunting one.
This is wonderful and I'm really looking forward to more and also to your on-line course. Will it be on Domestika with your current course? Your explanations are clear and very helpful but a visual demo such as your course will be great. I do want to mention that I find Domestika's style of filming the instructor's demos quite annoying, in my opinion. Why do they repeatedly switch the focus from the actual demo to the artists face?? Please forgive me, but it's so disruptive to the instruction! In any event I look forward to another on-line course with you!
I don’t thing I’ve ever seen a step-by-step breakdown of watercolor painting before, let alone one focused on architecture. It’s super cool! I’m glad your older version of the building has grown on you because it’s super pretty.
This was awesome, thank you. I’m always wondering about the moment by moment decision-makingnwhen drawing on location, and this is exactly that! Your writing is clear and helpful.
Love the process post and the sketch! I really like your use of different materials and layering.

thank you Louisa, that is really good to hear! it's a complex process but all pretty rational (well almost all 😂)
love process posts! Perfect write-up as well; simple while still explaining everything I could want. Really looking forward to these in the future!
thanks for saying this, glad you liked it!
Love seeing a process breakdown. Not too many words! Great to understand your materials choices and see how they all come together. Very cool!

thanks Tina! I took some liberties with the intensity of the light, which is always a good idea IMO
